Not in FL Anymore! (Part 1)

We have been having so much fun on vacation we are going to have to share our adventures in two posts! (at least) We have been exploring so many new things and playing with so many family members. Bryson has had so much fun with aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents and even neighbors!

First thing in NC was to go check out the lake...well for a baby who isn't very fond of the beach you can only guess how he felt about the lake. :(

So instead, we tried the pool. This was an instant hit! Bryson has really become a true "water baby" over the summer and now that he is comfortable with his swimmies is is off and floating all on his own! I think basic swimming lessons are in our near future!

Bryson is also getting to enjoy many things that we don't have at home! First he learned how to climb up into the old rocking chair and read his book all by himself!

It's been a LONG time since Bryson has seen grandpa Rudolph. He really enjoys their special reading time!

Also, Bryson tried a new treat after mommy and daddy came back from a trip to the grocery store--a gummy worm!

We have also had fun exploring the mountains! Bryson is absolutely fascinated with the very large and very tall trees. He loves to go up and try to wrap his arms around them. We thought he would love running up and down the hills, but he was a bit nervous when we actually venture down the big hill by the lake. But he sure had fun with his yellow ball!

We also took our FIRST trip to the library ever while on vacation. We had a lot of fun playing with all the puppets, stuffed animals, and most importantly the train table!

Where's Bryson?!

We play outside almost every night! This night's new game--bowling! I don't know if Bryson really got the idea of how the game is played, but he had fun knocking down the pins by any means necessary!

We've been having a great time on vacation together. I am truly blessed to have this time with my family and I can't wait to see what adventures the rest of our vacation has in store for us!

Fun in the Sun!

We've been enjoying the Florida summer as best we can this week! It has been VERY hot and we've tried numerous ways to cool ourselves down. Bryson took some time to play out in our front yard for the first time since we've moved in.

"Watch me run!"

Look at the dirt "someone" found!

He's starting to develop quite an arm!

Mommy had the "great" idea to try and go visit the beach one day this week as well. We haven't taken Bryson to the beach in quite a few months. He was NOT fond of it then and we thought that maybe he would like it now. NOT the case! He was so excited as we were walking up the boardwalk and he could see the water off in the distance. At times he would run and then look up at me with the biggest smile....but as soon as we had walked close enough to hear the waves, he looked and me and turned to leave. After carrying him the rest of the way, we walked down to the water. He was so scared he wouldn't put his feet in. When he was put down in the sand, he walked straight to the exit ramp. Oh well-maybe next time!

Finally, the third time was the real charm. We have a neat experience at our house--an ice cream truck! It passes by once every few days. I never had this growing up and I think I am more of a kid than Bryson is when it comes to ice cream. But not this time! Bryson was SUPER excited. We waited at the end of the driveway for the truck to come and Bryson was waiving the entire time. He was so excited to get his popsicle and he did so well eating it all by himself! He shared many bites with mommy, but WOULD NOT let anyone else hold it.

Summertime Silliness

It's been a long time since we've posted, and after some rearranging, our family blog is up and running again. Yay! It's so important to document and share the times we have together--especially since the time is flying by so quickly.

Bryson is definitely NOT afraid of the water, so we are trying many new ways to get him used to the water. We thought he would be afraid of the swimming vest, but he actually did great!

We also had a great celebration a while back when daddy graduated from college!! He worked so hard and we are SO very proud of him! In the fall, both daddy and mommy will be working at Poinciana Elementary together. Daddy will be a brand new 1st grade teacher, while mommy stays in 4th grade for yet another year.

We've also had a good time playing in our new front yard. Bryson could care less about all the weeding, trimming, and mowing that needs to be done--he just loves to be outside.

Mommy thought it would be a fun idea to "make a tent". This is something I loved to do when I was little on those rainy days. Only difference--I'm a girl! I don't think boys are in to sitting under tents as much as they are in to destroying them!

Wrecking a tent is hard work! Little man wore himself out.

The best part of summer vacation--being a stay at home mom. I have loved these past few weeks and feel very blessed to have this time to spend with my boys!
